Trump Touts Tech-Driven Hamas Disarmament Plan; Awaiting Israeli Confirmation

by admin477351

In a move he described as “historic,” U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed an agreement aimed at the total disarmament of Hamas, marking what he suggests is a significant stride toward peace in Gaza. The announcement came through social media, yet there has been no official confirmation from either the Israeli government or Hamas regarding the agreement.

According to the plan outlined by Trump, Hamas would systematically dismantle its military capabilities, including the destruction of its tunnel network and the surrendering of heavy weapons, all under international supervision. In exchange, Israeli forces would conduct a phased withdrawal from Gaza. An international stabilization force, along with a new Palestinian security administration, would then assume the responsibility of maintaining order in the region.

The proposed roadmap stipulates an immediate cessation of military operations prior to the commencement of the disarmament process. The dismantling of heavy weapons, tunnels, and other military infrastructure would be overseen by an international verification committee to ensure compliance. Reports suggest that Hamas has agreed to the framework in principle, with the disarmament preparations expected to begin within two weeks, pending international approval and consensus among all involved parties.

However, Israel has not officially endorsed the proposal. Israeli officials continue to assert that their security concerns require the complete disarmament and demilitarization of Gaza before any broader agreement can be pursued, indicating that the current proposal does not fully meet their demands.

Despite these diplomatic efforts, military operations in Gaza have persisted, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the potential implementation of this agreement. The ongoing conflict highlights the complexities of achieving a lasting peace in the region.
