Russia Touts “Battlefield Experience” in Unique Defense Pact with India

by admin477351

Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov has highlighted “battlefield experience” as the unique and defining feature of the defense partnership with India. In a speech announcing a major new defense push, he stated this experience “Russia willingly shares with its Indian partners.”
This practical, proven cooperation, Alipov argued, is why 70% of India’s military equipment is of Russian origin and has been effective in operations. He also pointed to joint exercises like “Indra” as examples of this shared doctrine.
Building on this “unique” foundation, Russia is now offering to co-produce its Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jet, as well as advanced drones and anti-drone systems, in India.
This move reinforces the 60-year-old alliance at a time of US pressure. Donald Trump recently claimed India would stop buying Russian oil, and the US has imposed punitive tariffs related to this trade.
India’s MEA has stood firm, citing “consumer interests” in its energy policy. Russia’s offer, rooted in proven combat technology, serves as a powerful reminder of its reliability.
