Israel Claims Victory, Then Resumes Strikes After Ceasefire Breach

by admin477351

Israel, having claimed victory in the 12-day war and coordinated a ceasefire with the US President, swiftly resumed strikes after accusing Iran of violating the truce. This rapid escalation casts doubt on the sincerity of the ceasefire agreement.
The Israeli government had stated its agreement to the ceasefire “in light of achieving the objectives of the operation,” including removing “a double existential threat.” However, this stance quickly changed after an alleged Iranian missile launch in northern Israel.
Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered “forceful strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran,” citing Iran’s “complete violation of the ceasefire.” This suggests a pre-existing readiness to resume operations despite the declared truce.
The hours leading up to the ceasefire saw some of Israel’s most intense airstrikes on Tehran, with Iran reporting casualties. Iran, while denying post-ceasefire launches, confirmed its earlier barrages had killed five Israelis and wounded 22. The complex and volatile situation continues to unfold.
